Music can be heard all over the theme parks in Orlando whether it be when wandering around the streets of Disney, or the Walk ways of Universal Studios, tunes can be heard setting the scene for the particular area you happen to be visiting at that moment. There are annual concerts and festivals such as Mardi Gras and Rock the Universe at Universal, Night of Joy at the magic Kingdom Walt Disney World, Eat the Beat Concert Series at Epcot and at SeaWorld Viva La Musica and Summer Nights, to name but a few. Each park also has a daily parade with musical treats galore.

New Orleans Mardi Gras Theme at Universal Resort Orlando

Universal Studios is about to hold it’s annual Mardi Gras spectacular,

A huge display of vibrant colour, music, food and entertainment in the form of a parade, street performers and big named concerts.

The parade is held on selected nights ending in a live concert  at the Music Plaza Stage.

Universal Orlando to Host a ‘Days of Our Lives’ Meet and Greet.

‘Days of Our Lives’ the daytime soap opera broadcast on NBC are having a special ‘day out’ at Universal Orlando on February 23^rd 2013. Stars from the series will be out and about, meeting and greeting their fans throughout the park and also visiting Universal Citywalk.

CityWalk is holding autograph signing from 9.30-11.30am and 12.00-2.00pm.

Inside Universal Studios at the Animal Actors Theatre a question and answer session will be held at 3.45pm. Theme park admission needed.

Healthy Eating at Universal Orlando

With us all eating to excess over the festive period I thought I’d mention that at the Universal Orlando Resort you can have the choice of healthy dining options, as many of the restaurants and eating locations use trans-fat-free oil in their cooking and at selected locations there are healthy side options for adults and children, where children’s meals come with a choice of fruit and adults can choose a side salad. Your Theme park guide will give you more information.

Magic Kingdom Restaurant to serve Adult Drinks at Walt Disney World.

At the new ‘Be our Guest’ Restaurant which is due to open at Walt Disney World Florida in November 2012, alcohol will be served for the first time in the Magic Kingdom. The other Disney parks have been serving adult beverages in their restaurants for some time.

At Universal Studios you can also buy beer wine and mixed drinks to consume in their restaurants. Beer stands are also available within the park.

Universal Studios Florida, ‘Animal Actors On Location’

When needing a little family time and rest from all the excitement of Universal Studios attractions why not visit Animal Actors on Location it is a live action show with animal performances and video footage of all kinds of creatures offering fun for everyone.

The show lasts approx. 20minutes and it is recommended you arrive 15 minutes early, various performances are held through the day, show times are found on your park map.

Florida’s Universal Studio’s Evening Spectacular Cinematic Show

To conclude your exciting and fun filled day at Universal Studios Theme Park Orlando there is an amazing and dramatic finale ‘Universal’s Cinematic Spectacular-100 Years of Movie Memories’

The show is narrated by Morgan Freeman and apart from viewing clips from many Universal films old and new, has powerful pyrotechnic special effects casting images of waterfalls and fountains, together with stirring music.

And to end, watch an amazingly colourful firework display lasting approximately 18 minutes.

Independence Day celebrations in Orlando 2012

Here are a few events that are happening around the Orlando area for 4^th July 2012

Downtown Orlando is holding ‘Fireworks at the Fountain’. At Lake Eola park, there will be entertainment, food, fun and music, starting at 4pm on July 4^th, fireworks at 9.30pm.

In Kissimmee at Lakefront park there will be live music and entertainment, festivities begin at 5.00pm until 9.00pm. Ending with a firework display.

At the City of Celebration through the day their will be parades, entertainment, costume contests, music, food. Fireworks at 9.30 pm.

At the theme parks

The Magic Kingdom has ‘Celebrate America’ with fireworks at 9pm.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios, has a party atmosphere starting at 6.00pm with music and fun for all ending with fireworks with a rock and roll soundtrack at 9.45 pm.

Epcot’s IllumiNations:‘Reflections of Earth’ will end with a patriotic finale. Performance begins 10pm.

Universal Resort Orlando has it’s ‘Cinesphere’ show which begins at 9.00pm. which has a patriotic ending for Independence Day.
